2017 has finally arrived and boy did it come in with a bang. As usual, my husband and I brought in the New Year with our church. This year, our New Year's Eve service was bigger than ever. With the help of all of our campuses, we packed out the local arena-- which only sees larger crowds for concerts and other events. It was awesome!
To top off the night, my husband was one of 26 finalists who had a chance to win a brand new 2017 Camaro. My husband made it to the final two and ultimately chose the wrong key! The jury is still out on whether or not any of the keys actually cranked the car up and if the last person actually would win anyway, but that's none of my business. :-P Nonetheless, the person who needed it most received the car. The winner was an elderly woman who has been without a car for 10 years. That goes to show that God never falters on His promises, even if there is a 10 year delay. I was proud of my husband and we were uber excited to have had the opportunity out of over 6,000 entries! God blew our mind and we're expecting even bigger this year!
With the new year comes new things for me. I've mentioned a few things, such as going vegan and becoming more intent about losing weight. And, as each new year comes about, I seek to grow deeper and be more intentional in my relationship with God. Among these things, I also started a new blog that I'm excited to introduce to you all! This blog will focus solely on my do it yourself (DIY) projects. My goal for 2017 is to produce 1 project per week for all 52 weeks of the year, so what better way to hold myself accountable than to make a website and blog about it. I am so excited about this new venture and that many new things that I'll create. I've already kicked off the year with some yoga pants, which I shared on my Instagram. Don't worry! I won't be neglecting this blog and the faithful followers that I have gained here. It still remains my assignment to share weekly inspirational posts and random thoughts. However, I encourage you to head on over to to Mission52DIY.com if you're interested in DIY.
I pray that each of you are going after you goals and ambitions for the new year. Though the new year is a great time to start anew and get back on track, remember we have new mercies and opportunities everyday. The New Year's Eve message given by our Pastor was from Isaiah 43:19. God is doing a new thing, but will you catch it? Will you recognize the opportunities? Yesterday marked opportunity 1 of 365 for the year, now take advantage of it.
If there's anything that I can do to help you along with your goals, don't hesitate to contact me. I'd love to hear from you.
