I often find myself in a battle of emotions during this time of year. The days are shorter and, as darkness creeps over the sky, we begin to experience the bitter cold of the season. Before you know it, you may find yourself just as sad, dark, and cold as the days. It's no surprise that the fall and winter seasons are cited as having the most suicides than any other seasons. The gloom that's in the air gets into the unguarded hearts of many. I can attest that the holiday season has lost the joy that it once had after experiencing many losses during this time of year.
Today as I stood in the mirror thinking about all of the things that I have to do this week, I prayed that during these seasons of darkness I would be light. Not only that, I resolved that I would have an attitude of expectancy-- believing that God would do great things despite the atmosphere. I want you to have that same. Be the light and expect the best.
